KEMPER COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Kemper County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man accused of making unauthorized purchases with a company-issued fuel card belonging to the Porterville Water Association.
Investigators said Javarius A. Grace was taken into custody on Oct. 2, 2025, following an investigation into the unlawful use of the association’s gas credit card.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation found that between Aug. 25 and Sept. 26, Grace used the card on 13 occasions, totaling about $578 in fuel purchases for his personal vehicle and vehicles belonging to acquaintances.
Grace, who was employed by the Porterville Water Association at the time, has been charged with felony credit card or credit card numbers; use with intent to defraud.
He was issued a $5,000 bond on Oct. 4 and is scheduled to appear in court in March 2026.
