NESHOBA COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced that sections of State Route 16 and West Beacon Street in Neshoba County will be closed beginning Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, to allow for construction of the SR 15/16 Roundabout.
According to MDOT, State Route 16 at Canal Place and West Beacon Street from SR 885 to SR 16, including the connection to SR 375, will remain closed through June 30, 2026.
Detour signage will be posted throughout the area to help drivers navigate around the closures. Temporary traffic signals will also be installed at both ends of SR 885 to assist with traffic flow during construction.
MDOT officials urge motorists to slow down, follow posted signage, and remain alert for construction workers in the area.
The project is part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic safety and efficiency in Philadelphia and the surrounding region.
