NEWTON, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) -The Newton Police Department has concluded its investigation into the death of a 63-year-old Laurel man found earlier this month.
According to a press release issued by the department, officers responded to a welfare check Feb. 11 at a residence on Ora Street. Upon arrival, officers found Gilbert Satcher deceased inside the home.
Police said the results of the investigation determined Satcher died from medical complications related to a prior medical condition. No foul play was indicated.
In the release, Chief McKenzie Patrick thanked Newton County E-911, Newton Fire & Rescue, AmeriPro EMS and the Newton County Coroner’s Office for their assistance during the investigation.
The Newton Police Department said it continues to keep the Satcher family in its thoughts and prayers.
