Boil water advisory issued after water line repair in Meridian

MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – City crews have completed repairs to a water line near 26th Street and 29th Avenue in Meridian, and an advisory boil water notice has been issued for customers in the affected area.

The advisory applies to 26th Street between Poplar Springs Drive and 29th Avenue, as well as 29th Avenue between 25th Street and 31st Street.

City officials recommend that customers in the impacted area boil water vigorously for at least one minute before consumption. The advisory applies to water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth and food preparation.

As a precaution, city laboratory staff will conduct water quality sampling to ensure state health and safety standards are met. The advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe for normal use.
