MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – A large law enforcement and emergency response presence was reported Wednesday afternoon at the Chick-fil-A location on 22nd Avenue in downtown Meridian near the Lauderdale County Government Center.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, drawing a response from multiple agencies, including the Meridian Police Department, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department, Meridian Fire Department, and a bomb detection K-9 unit.
According to information gathered at the scene, authorities were investigating an alleged bomb threat. As a precaution, Chick-fil-A employees were evacuated from the building while law enforcement and emergency personnel secured and searched the area.
The scene has since been cleared, and normal activity has resumed in the area. However, officials have not yet released an official report or statement regarding the incident.
