MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – A City of Meridian employee has been placed on administrative leave with pay as officials respond to an ongoing criminal investigation, according to a statement released by the city.
The City of Meridian said it is aware of the criminal investigation involving one of its employees but did not identify the employee or provide details about the nature of the investigation.
“The City of Meridian, Mississippi is aware of the criminal investigation involving a City employee,” the statement said. “This employee has been put on administrative leave with pay pending an internal investigation.”
The statement was provided by Meridian Chief Administrative Officer Craig Hitt on behalf of the city.
It was not immediately clear which agency is conducting the criminal investigation or what allegations are involved.
