MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department presented donation checks Friday morning to The Wesley House and Care Lodge, two nonprofit organizations that provide critical support services to families and individuals in crisis.
The donations were funded through proceeds from the department’s First Annual Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Rodeo. Officials said strong community turnout and support for the event played a major role in making the contributions possible.
During the ceremony, held Friday, Dec. 5, sheriff’s department leaders recognized both organizations for their ongoing work assisting victims of abuse, offering emergency services and supporting families throughout Lauderdale County.
Officials also noted that dates for the Second Annual Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Rodeo will be announced after the start of the new year.
