MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Authorities say a disturbance involving pepper spray at a Walmart in Meridian was brought under control Tuesday evening.
Meridian Police confirmed that officers responded to the Walmart on Highway 19 around 6:30 p.m. following reports of an incident inside the store.
According to officials, a small altercation occurred near the checkout registers, during which pepper spray was deployed, affecting several people in the area.
One person was evaluated at the scene by Metro Ambulance Service and is expected to be OK, authorities said.
Police said the situation has since been resolved and officers were working to clear the scene. No further details about those involved or potential charges were immediately released.
