MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Families will have one more chance to celebrate summer before the new school year begins during the City of Meridian’s Back-to-School Pool Party on Friday at Highland Park Pool.
The event, hosted by the City of Meridian Parks and Recreation Department, will take place from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 31, at Highland Park Pool.
The free community event will feature food while supplies last, music, games and activities for children, teens and families.
City Parks and Recreation Director Thomas Adams said the event is an opportunity for students and their families to enjoy one last summer celebration before returning to the classroom.
“As summer comes to a close, we’re excited to help our students and families celebrate the start of a new school year together,” Adams said.
The city is encouraging residents to bring their friends and family for an afternoon of fun as the community prepares to welcome the new school year.
The Back-to-School Pool Party is free to attend, and organizers say they look forward to seeing families at Highland Park Pool as they say goodbye to summer and hello to the upcoming school year.
