A community golf fundraiser benefiting the Illuminations Center for Dyslexia is set for March 20 at Lakeview Golf Course in Meridian.
The Bogeys and Stogies Golf Tournament will begin at 9 a.m. and feature a two-man scramble format. Entry is $40 per person and includes a golf cart. Prizes will be awarded, and hole sponsorships are available for local businesses and individuals who wish to support literacy-focused initiatives.
Illuminations Center for Dyslexia is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides evidence-based dyslexia therapy and literacy support to students and families in the area.
“This tournament is a great opportunity for the community to come together in a fun, relaxed setting while supporting students who face real challenges in learning to read,” said Leta Palmiter, executive director of Illuminations. “Support from local businesses and sponsors helps us continue expanding access to dyslexia services for families in our area.”
The event is sponsored by Queen City Cigar and Magnolia Beverage Co., whose contributions helped make the inaugural tournament possible.
While organizers expect most participants to be from the local area, Illuminations is also welcoming sponsorship support from individuals and organizations outside Meridian interested in promoting literacy and educational equity.
