PRESS RELEASE
The Meridian Police Department responded Saturday night (Nov. 15, 2025) at approximately 7:50 PM to a report of a male subject lying in the yard of a residence in the 900 block of Church Avenue.
Upon arrival officers located the individual and observed that he had sustained apparent stab wounds. After further investigation, officers determine the subject was deceased at the scene.
Assistant Chief Dareall Thompson said, “A suspect was taken into custody immediately, and without incident. Investigators are currently interviewing the individual. No charges have been filed at this time and no names are being released, pending further investigation.”
Preliminary information indicates the incident stemmed from an argument between two individuals, and the stabbing occurred as a result of that altercation. The Meridian Police Department emphasizes that this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
MPD responded quickly and investigators will continue to process evidence thoroughly and gather information. Updates will be provided as they become available. No additional details are being released at this time.
