LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – Two people were killed in a crash Friday afternoon on U.S. Highway 45 in Lauderdale County, authorities said.
The accident occurred around 2 p.m. Friday on Highway 45.
Lauderdale County Coroner Stella McMahan said it appeared the victims were trying to head south– leaving the Outpost area toward Clarke County.
McMahan confirmed two fatalities in the crash. The identities of the victims have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities said a second vehicle was involved in the collision. One person from that vehicle was transported to a local hospital with injuries. The extent of those injuries has not been released.
No additional details were immediately available as the investigation remains ongoing.
