PHILADELPHIA, Miss. — A crash in front of The Grindhouse caused major traffic delays on Main Street Thursday morning and sent one woman to the hospital, police said.

Police Chief Eric Lyons said the wreck happened around 9:45 a.m. A white Ford F-150 was parked near the coffee shop and tried to pull out onto Main Street. The driver did not see a black SUV coming from the west and hit it.

The crash caused the SUV to roll over in the roadway. Main Street was completely blocked for about 35 to 40 minutes while police and emergency crews worked to clear the scene.

The SUV’s driver, a 42-year-old woman from Philadelphia, was taken to Choctaw Health Center. Lyons said her injuries were not life-threatening.

No charges are expected to be filed in the case at this time.

The crash happened between The Grindhouse and the Ellis Theater, an area that is currently under construction for the Congress of Country Music remodel and expansion. Lyons reminded drivers to slow down and use extra caution in the area because of ongoing construction and heavier traffic.
