LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed) – The Lauderdale County School District will officially begin the 2026-27 school year next week, with teachers returning to work Monday and students heading back to classrooms on Thursday.
More than 500 teachers and administrators are expected to gather for the district’s annual 2026 Convocation on Monday, Aug. 3, at the MSU Riley Center in downtown Meridian.
Students across the Lauderdale County School District will return to campus for the first day of classes on Thursday, Aug. 6.
The return of students marks the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year as schools across Lauderdale County prepare to welcome students back for another year of learning.
