MERIDIAN, Miss. (Queen City Newsfeed)- The 4th Annual Walk for Mental Health is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 11, at Bonita Lakes Playground in Meridian.
The event, presented by Zack B., will begin at 3 p.m. with guest speakers and community voices, followed by an exercise walk starting at 4 p.m. Organizers said the program will include a moment of silence in honor of individuals who have lost their lives to mental-health struggles.
Speakers listed for the event include Brittany Parker, Darius Ewing, Jamie Humphrey, Erica Carter, Charmin Chamoin, Marquita Nichols, Pastor Darius Thames and Andriene Collins. Kashae Miller is slated to serve as mistress of ceremonies, with music by DJ Toby and entertainment by Ashley Clark. Photography will be provided by “Mil’s Memories.”
The event invites participation from residents of Meridian and surrounding communities, along with local businesses, organizations and churches. Food will be provided by Jersey Mike’s Subs, and sponsors include Jamal Roberts, C1 Quotes, Butterfingaz, This & That Bar & Grill, Behavioral Health Services for Meridian, Katie Kares, Positive Energy Counseling Services and Dons of the Digital.
