JACKSON- Mississippi Blood Services is urging residents to donate platelets, citing an urgent need.
The nonprofit said donors who give between Feb. 9 and Feb. 14 will receive a limited-edition Valentine’s T-shirt designed by Marshall Ramsey, while supplies last.
Mississippi Blood Services also announced a February donor giveaway. People who donate between Feb. 1 and Feb. 28 will be automatically entered for a chance to win a Visa gift card prize, including one $1,000 card or one of two $500 cards, according to the organization.
Donation centers are located at 115 Tree St. in Flowood, 609 N. Davis Ave., Suite 101B, in Cleveland, and 2627 W. Oxford Loop, Suite C, in Oxford.
Walk-ins are accepted, and appointments are encouraged, the organization said.
