The Mississippi Coalition Against Domestic Violence is encouraging people across the state to wear purple Thursday to show support for survivors of domestic violence.
The observance, known as Purple Thursday, is part of efforts during Domestic Violence Awareness Month to raise awareness and show solidarity with survivors.
The coalition said survivors, advocates, shelter programs and communities across Mississippi are participating.
Residents are encouraged to wear purple, share photos and messages of support on social media and use the hashtag #MCADVPurpleThursday2026.
The coalition said the campaign is intended to remind survivors that they are seen, believed and supported.
Purple is widely used as a symbol of domestic violence awareness and survivor support.
